Google local business listing problems

May 8, 10:56 AM

I recently set up a local business listing for myself in Google to both help my customers find me and improve the SEO of my site.

It works really well and if you do a search for “Web Designer Melbourne” up I pop.

Take a look yourself.

Did you see me? 5th from the top. Pretty good, eh? The only slight concern is that it links to someone else’s site! My listing in Google local business points to an IT solutions company in India!

Does anyone know how this is possible – and more importantly – how can I rectify this?

UPDATE – It seems a few people had the same problem. Not sure who was to blame but somehow lots of business listings got affected by the same Indian company – Nestsoft.

Anyway – all seems to be fixed now.

Another update – The problem seems to have come back again (same pesky company – Nestsoft)! I’ve recently heard from Louise at Black Max Media who has the same problem. She told me about Peter who is suffering at the hands of nestsoft too.

It seems it’s not a google f*ck up as I first expected, but instead a new-fangled way of getting spammed! Isn’t this identity theft or summat? Isn’t that illegal Nestsoft?
